Ah go on, go on, go on!
A road safety campaign involving the beloved Mrs. Doyle from Father Ted has gone awry in Co. Mayo, after life-size cardboard cut-outs to alert drivers and GAA fans to take a break over the bank holiday weekend were stolen.
The idea to use the large image of the famous Father Ted character was the brainchild of Mayo County Council and An Garda Siochana.
However, it appears someone has gone and taken the cutout within four hours of it being put up. :(

The campaign has been given thumbs up by Pauline McLynn who played the part as Mrs Doyle in the show and also by the production company Hat Trick productions LTD, which produced Fr Ted, which gave the road safety office of Mayo County Council a licence to use the images.
Road Safety Noel Gibbons said: “Unfortunately the signs were stolen within 4 or 5 hours after they were erected, the campaign still continues we want to make road users aware of driver fatigue.
“The signs help make drivers aware of driver fatigue and contribute towards making local communities safer, but won’t lose sleep over it these signs been removed.”
