Clare man Tom Nagel was minding his own business last night at Vaughan’s Anchor Inn in Liscannor when out of the blue the pub phone rang and he was informed that Metallica would be dropping by for dinner that evening.
The band have been enjoying their time in Ireland after their sold out gig in Slane last weekend.
Speaking to Dermot & Dave Tom said the rock legends decided to take their private helicopter to county Clare yesterday, and dine in one of Liscannor’s finest establishments ‘Vaughan’s Anchor Inn’ which is located about five minutes from the seaside village of Lahinch.

Legends!
The band weren't just splashing the cash on themselves while in Ireland though, they also generously donated €35,000 to the Capuchin Day Centre.
