Ireland is the EU's biggest exporter of butter.
People just can't get enough of our buttery goodness.
So it comes as no surprise that shops around the world import buckets of Kerrygold for Irish expats in places like Australia, Dubai and the US.
Then the Ozzies and the Americans copped on to how amazing the golden stuff is and they started buying them in thier droves too.
So now everyone is winning, right?
Wrong.
In 1970 the state of Wisconsin passed a law which required that all butter for sale be first put in front of a panel of "experts" which would give it a grade based on certain standards.
As Kerrygold is made in Ireland, it doesn't meet these state of Wisconsin's requirements.
However, most people soon forgot all about these 'butter experts' and their crazy rules.
That is until recently, when high fat diets and Bullet Proof coffee became popular.
Now shop owners in Wisconsin face large fines and possible jail time if they don't take Kerrygold off their shelves.
