An Irish teacher's post on Facebook has gone viral, after she uploaded a picture to show her class how quickly posts can spread around the world.
Dee McPartland wanted to teach her 4th class students about privacy and internet safely and she believed the lesson would be a lot more powerful if she posted a test image from her own Facebook account and monitored with her class.
On Tuesday afternoon Dee posted the image and within 12 hours it had spread around the world. She's had people comment on it from Chile, South Carolina, Australia and she has also been inundated with messages.
So far the post has been shared over 14,000 times and over 12,500 people have commented on it.
Legally, children cannot use Facebook until they are 13, however Dee wanted to do this experiment now, before the majority of her class began to use Facebook.
She hopes it has made an impact and demonstrated to her young students just how powerful social media can be.
