Hospital staff in Dublin have been forced to sleep on mattresses in crowded rooms overnight as a result of the storm.
Photos from the Mater and Tallaght hospitals show floor beds laid out for staff so they can continue working.
The Defence Forces have deployed around 250 troops across the country so they can help HSE staff get to work and visit house bound patients.
Commandant Pat O'Connor says they're glad to help:
"We are delighted to be able to support HSE staff right around the country," he said.
"We were able to bring key medical staff who are doing such important work; getting them into their place of work.
"Also with the like of palliative care nurses; helping them to get out and see patients - which means so much to these patients when they see the HSE workers arriving.
"We are delighted to be able to help them."

Staff at St Vincent's Hospital in Fairview have reportedly been offered mattresses in relaxation and training rooms.
The Irish Independent reports that staff have no access to hot food - with the canteen closed and workers offered sandwiches, tea and bars.
