There's a new Irish movie out and it has one of the most Irish names of any film made here to date.
The Lads premiered at The Reel Film Festival in Cork on Sunday, where it took home the gong for runner-up feature film.
The dark comedy follows three mates who get involved in a dodgy situation, but the really amazing thing is that it was made on a shoestring budget (€250!) and all in their own time over one year and five months, in between school, college and work.
Director Ian Adams said, 'We filmed on our own free time. Every person acting or helping out in this film are childhood friends.
'I have been calling 'The Lads' Dumb and Dumber meets Love/Hate.'
'I think a lot of people will relate to the story and characters cause the stuff that happens in this film you see everyday in Ireland.'
'Pretty much everything I wrote in this is something I have seen or been part of.'
We're hoping The Lads will be showing in cinemas in Ireland over the next few weeks. So light a candle and say a prayer and we'll keep you updated.
