Is it just us or are the spiders in Ireland getting bigger, hairier and generally more petrifying with each passing year?
It's September and that means it's spider mating season.
Wonderful.
The eight-legged creepy crawlies prefer to do the deed in warmer and drier conditions, which means you'll be finding more and more of them in your house, whether you like it or not.
Just like reddit user iascbreathnach did.
Even though they look like machines of death we are being reassured over and over again that these creatures are just giant house spiders (shudders) and are not dangerous.
Still though, all things considered if you find one in your gaff this is probably the best course of action.
