It was the Irish premiere of the brand new Star Trek Beyond movie so Dermot, a self-confessed hardcore Trekkie decided to join his fellow brethren in a photo. However, one member of the crew wasn't happy.
We believe Dermot beamed himself up, before the phaser shot.
Maybe he was unhappy with Dermot's Picard impression...or more than likely Dave's Warf (Cookie Monster):
