For all those running, we’ve decided to compile a list of tips to keep you going:
- Keep refreshed and hydrated – use our waterstops and make sure you drink lots of water along the route
- Keep comfortable – we’re giving everyone a lovely running shirt at registration which would be great to wear
- Make sure you wear good running shoes that you’ve worn before!
- Make sure you’ve got a motivational playlist to keep you going – check out Today FM listener picks here
- Pick something nice to look at on the course – a fine pair of legs or nice bum will distract you from exhaustion
- Break the miles/kilometres into smaller chunks by counting or reciting song lyrics that measure a certain distance
- Don’t carry unnecessary items – get your supporters to take the photos!
- Give your legs a rest by incorporating stretches of walking along the way
- If it’s a sunny day wear some good-fitting sunglasses to reduce glare – and don't forget sunscreen
- Make sure you have some treats in store to look forward to on completing your run!
