Mondays are difficult for a number of reasons. Your weekend went by too quickly. You stayed up too late watching crappy television on Friday and you had one too many glasses of wine on Saturday. You enjoyed not setting your alarm clock for two days and you don't want to face the reality of real life on a Monday. But, it's going to be over soon, you just need to keep the head down and keep going. 

1)Treat yourself to a nice dinner

You deserve it. Tonight is not the night for slaving over the stove. Find something handy and tasty, it doesn't have to be a takeaway but....that might help.

2) Get a slanket / blanket or duvet

Do it. NOW. Find something warm to drape over yourself, get to the couch aaaaaand relax. It's safe. It's warm. It's where you need to be.

 

3) Watch a trashy movie.

Tonight, you have no capacity for educational viewing. You need something light, fluffy and preferably funny. Pick your favourite guilty pleasure movie / series and binge watch. We said so. 

 

4) Plan something nice for yourself 

You need something to look forward to. Book a treatment, order something gadgety online, plan a weekend away with the gang. This doesn't need to even happen, just talking about it will make you feel MILES better. 

 

5) Bed early

Stop scrolling through Facebook. Don't refresh Twitter once more. Nothing has changed. Get into the leaba, turn on Today FM and enjoy the wind down. SLEEP. SLEEP. SLEEP. Monday? Go and sh*te.
