"You bingein' on me!?"
Taxi Driver star and Hollywood superstar Robert De Niro is sueing a former employee at his production company for embezzlement and bingeing on Netflix in work hours.
According to Variety magazine, the employee named as Chase Robinson once binged on 55 episodes of Friends on work time. We're not defending her actions, but that is easily done when you're camped out on a couch on a heavy Sunday but you would be hard pressed to get away with it in an office or on a building site!
Then on another period of time while employed by De Niro, she allegedly viewed 20 episodes of Arrested Development and and 10 episodes of Schitt's Creek. That show title being ironically appropriate because that's exactly where she is now!
The lawsuit states:
“Watching shows on Netflix was not in any way part of or related to the duties and responsibilities of Robinson’s employment and, on information and belief, was done for her personal entertainment, amusement and pleasure at times when she was being paid to work”
The $6 million suit also claims that she drafted a recommendation letter for herself, which De Niro refused to sign.
