Last night the New York Festival's International Radio Awards were held in Manhattan with for the world's best radio programs & promos being honoured... and Today FM takes home two trophies!
The signature Art Deco radio microphone trophy is now a "must have" in radio land and Gavin Blake, the man who expertly engineers all of the live performances you hear on Today FM, picked up a NYF Gold Radio Award for Best Live Sound. Any band coming into perform in Marconi House know the reputation that Today FM Sessions have in terms of quality (many bands have used them as 'bonus tracks' and b-sides), and this award confirms that Gavin is the man behind it all.
Today FM also picked up a Bronze Award for the documentary, ‘Cherish All The Children’, written & presented by Hilary Fennell, in the Social Issues category. You can listen back to Cherish All The Children - the remarkable story of brave single mothers who refused to give up their children for adoption 40 years ago and founded Cherish/One Family - on todayfm.com here.
We'd like to very publicly say a huge well done and congratulations to both Gavin and Hilary.
