Ireland's First Cashless Cafe Opens In Dublin

The lunch time rush in cafes can often mean overwhelmed baristas trying to keep up with a steady stream of orders while still providing great customer service and making sure the tills balance at the end of the day.

There's truly nothing worse than having to do quick maths on the spot in front of customers.

Well one cafe in Dublin City Centre has made the whole process a lot easier for staff  and customers by becoming the first cashless cafe in the country.

Bear Market Coffee opened a new location on George Street and it is completely cash free.

Owners Ruth and Stephen Deasy say that by eliminating cash transactions they can provide "improved customer experience, service and efficiency".

Instead of handing over cash, customers will pay for their brew by tapping their bank card or using Apple Pay. They can also collect points and pay for their coffee via the Bear Market Cafe loyalty app.

The George St. cafe is due to open at lunch time today.
