Did you know 1 in 4 women dies from heart disease and stroke? Women are 6 times more likely to die from heart disease and stroke than breast cancer..
It doesn’t have to be this way. 80% of premature heart disease and stroke can be prevented by healthy lifestyles such as through moving more, quitting smoking, cutting down on alcohol, eating healthily, aiming for your best weight and knowing your blood pressure and cholesterol.
As well as making heart healthy lifestyle changes, it’s important to be aware of the symptoms of heart attack. By knowing what the symptoms are, you can take the steps that can help get timely treatment. Women are less likely to recognise the symptoms of heart attack. They also take longer than men to get medical help and treatment after experiencing a heart attack.
