Saturday September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day.
Each year on this day, attention is brought to the issue of suicide in hopes of reducing stigma and increasing awareness.
Helplink Mental Health launched their mental health services on World Suicide Prevention Day and this year they celebrate 10 years of providing support for those who find themselves struggling.

Counselling Services
Since launching on September 10th 2012, Helplink has expanded their 7 day a week and out-of-hours counselling services to support people of all ages: nationally and internationally. They also now offer in-person appointments in their Galway and Mayo offices.
In their 10 years of service, Helplink has provided over 18,000 counselling appointments for children, young people, and adults. Last year alone they provided >6000 appointments illustrating the large national trend of increased mental health support seeking from the public.
Helplink offers a variety of different counselling services to support a range of ages and needs including:

- Bereavement Therapy

Mind Hacks
Helplink also provides mental health information and education services. In 2020 they released their national e-learning platform called Mind Hacks.
On Mind Hacks the public have free access 24/7 to unique mental health video and podcast libraries and the platform also provides student mental health workshops; also available 24/7 over a continuous period.
