NASA has released an image of a portion of the Andromeda galaxy, captured by the NASA Hubble Space Telescope.
It features over one hundred million stars, some of them in thousands of star clusters.
The 1.5 billion pixel picture is made up of 411 images (taken over 3 years). It focuses on individual stars in the same way as you might try and focus on one grain of sand when taking a picture of a beach. Amazing.
Not to mention that the galaxy is over 2 million light-years away from Earth. That’s one powerful telescope.
