Staff at a breeding centre in China have been waiting for giant panda Ai Hin to give birth and had been planning the first live-broadcast of a panda birth.
It’s all been cancelled amid claims that the panda faked her pregnancy.
It’s believed that Ai Hin may have tricked staff in a bid to receive more pampering and extra food rations.
The six-year-old panda had been showing signs of pregnancy last month but shortly after being moved to a single room with air conditioning and around-the-clock care her behaviour and ‘physiological indexes’ returned to normal, according to staff at the Chengdu Breeding Research Centre.
