This is a crystal ball choice. Our pick for 2019.
2018 - ‘One Kiss’ - Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa
Huge. Huger. Biggest. Massive. Humongous. *Insert adjective* Clear winner for 2018.
2017 - Despacito (Remix )- Luis Fonsi/Daddy Yankee/Bieber
16 weeks at the number one spot in Ireland alone. 6,269,336,977 views on YouTube. Even looking at that number on screen is mind boggling.
Even your Granny was dancing to this, that is a cast iron guarantee of success.
2016 -"This Is What You Came For" - Calvin Harris & Rihanna
Number 1 all over the shop including Ireland. The biggest collab of the year. Honourable mention goes to 'Cheap Thrill' by SIA.
2015 – ‘Cheerleader’ by Omi
Love It/Hate It. This was HUGE.
2014 - Milky Chance - Stolen Dance
Dodgy name for a band. Great tune. Catchy as foook and number one all over Europe. We haven't heard from these German lads since but the retirement is paid for with this super hit.
2013 - 'Get Lucky' - Pharrell, Daft Punk & Nile Rodgers.
Honourable mention to 'Blurred Lines' by Pharrell and the Tick lad (although in retrospect you don't hear that much now cos ye know erm dodgy message etc.) and the underrated and brilliant "La la la" by Naughty Boy ft. Sam Smith
2012 - "Euphoria" by Loreen
The Eurovision winner from Sweden gave birth to this addictive dance belter!
2011 - 'Party Rock Anthem' - LMFAO ft. Lauren Bennett, GoonRock
In 2011 EVERYONE WAS SHUFFLING. Number one in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
