The incoming president of the Irish Medical Organisation says women should not be punished because they have chosen to have a family.
Dr John Duddy a neurosurgeon at Beaumont Hospital takes over the position later today and he says that we need flexible training options to assist women who want to climb the ranks of the medical profession.
He also says the next Government needs to put a long term plan in place to provide basic resources so that medics can implement new health policies.
