Martin O’Neill will be officially presented as new manager of the Republic of Ireland on Saturday, with Roy Keane named as his assistant.
Earlier today, Michael McMullan spoke to Chief Executive of the FAI, John Delaney, about the qualities he thinks Martin O’Neill will bring to the role: “He’s got great man-management skills, there’s no doubt about that, he’s been successful in nearly every job he’s done...he’s also a passionate Irish man...I think he’ll get the best out of our players”.
For Delaney, the past is very much in the past and he has great expectations of the new team: “I’m very comfortable with Martin coming in as manager and I’m very comfortable with Roy being his assistant, no problems there at all”.
