Babies born in 2016 could qualify for a once-off centenary celebration payment of 100 Euro.
The bonus will be paid to parents who name their children after signatories of the Proclamation of Independence.
The Arts Minister Heather Humphries gave a list of qualifying names, including Pearse, Clarke, MacDonagh and MacDiarmaid.
Boys named James will also qualify, but the name Connolly will not be permitted.
