The show took to the air for the first time on September 22nd 1994 and went on to enjoy 10 seasons, before concluding on May 6th 2004 – with 236 episodes under its belt.
The show revolved a group of six twentysomethings – Monica, Chandler, Joey, Phoebe, Ross and Rachel – who lived in an apartment block in Manhatten.
It followed the friends' romantic liaisons and career issues, including the never-ending on-off romance between Ross and Rachel – will they, won’t they, WE WERE ON A BREAK!
It gave us the ‘Rachel’ haircut. It taught us that you never invite your ex to your wedding - in case you say her name. That you pee on yourself when you get stung by a jellyfish. That you should measure your new sofa before bringing it home. That it's never wise to wear leather trousers on a first date.
The show has given us a million giggles and picked up a host of awards and nominations, including 6 Primetime Emmy Awards.
