2015 is shaping up to be the year of the sequel.
Here are a few highlights to watch out for:
Jurassic World (12th June)
The long-awaited next instalment of Steven Spielberg’s groundbreaking Jurassic Park series (the film’s been in ‘development since 2001). Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure which is set 22 years after the first.
Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens (18th December)
The seventh instalment in the Star Wars film series (excluding spin-offs). It stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong'o, and Gwendoline Christie, with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker reprising their respective roles from previous Star Wars films. The setting of The Force Awakens is set approximately 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi.
Fifty Shades of Grey (13th February)
E. L. James’ erotic novel finally hits the big screen in February. Jamie Dornan stars as billionaire Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, the young college student he seduces.
Terminator: Genisys (3rd July)
“I’ll be back”. Arnold Schwarzenegger will reprise his role as the titular character for the fifth time. The plot of the movie revolves around John Connor, the leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sending Kyle Reese back in time.
Spectre (23rd October)
Daniel Craig is back for his fourth instalment as Britain’s most famous spy, in the franchise’s 24th film. Sam Mendes returns to direct, and Ralph Fiennes (M), Naomie Harris (Moneypenny), Rory Kinnear (Tanner) and Ben Whishaw (Q) are all reprising their roles.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 (20th November)
After being symbolized as the 'Mockingjay', Katniss Everdeen and District 13 engage in an all-out revolution against the autocratic Capitol. Stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.

Avengers: Age of Ultron (24th April)
The sequel to 2012's Marvel's The Avengers will see the Avengers work together to defeat Ultron, a technological enemy bent on human extinction.
The all-star ensemble cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Cobie Smulders, Stellan Skarsgård, James Spader and Samuel L. Jackson. Joss Whedon directs.
Mission: Impossible V (26th December)
Tom Cruise will reprise his role of IMF Agent Ethan Hunt in the fifth film in the Mission: Impossible series, which will also star Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Alec Baldwin. The film is due for release Christmas 2015.

Pan (17th July)
Everyone knows the story of Peter Pan, but this is the story of the orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland before he becomes the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan. Starring Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Rooney Mara, Amanda Seyfried, and Levi Miller, this movie is somewhat darker than the original fairytale.
2015 will also see Matt Damon reprise his role as Jason Bourne in the Untitled Next Bourne Chapter - Bourne 5 - which has a release date for July 2016.
